March 1st
6:00pm
Hobson Hall
Lent is a penitential season, a time to strip away some of the glut of our lives and concentrate on what really matters. Traditionally, Christians have prepared for this season by cleaning house and getting rid of all of the rich foods, sweets, drinks, and luxuries that prevent people from truly engaging in the season.
Symbolically, we gather on Shrove Tuesday to eat up all the extra “fat,” the food that will vanish from our lives throughout the Lenten Season. We do this in the form of pancakes, syrup, and sausages.
- The dinner will start at 6:00 PM. We ask that you bring a $5.00 donation to help defray costs.
- There will be a children’s program happening during the dinner. The kids will make “Alleluia” banners and then symbolically bury them for the Season of Lent.
