On October 20th at 6pm at the planetarium on top floor of Smith lab there will be another showing of “Georges Lemaitre and the discovery of the expanding universe”. Georges Lemaitre was a Catholic priest and astrophysicist who helped to lay the groundwork for what we now call the Big Bang. The planetarium show tells that history and how Einstein was initially not very receptive to the idea. The event is free but RSVPs are appreciated.
