Ecumenical Blessing of the Palms at St. Stephen’s this year! For decades St. Stephen’s has joined with the St.Thomas More Newman Center and University Baptist congregations for an ecumenical “Liturgy of the Palms” which begins our service on Palm Sunday. This year the blessing will be held at St. Stephen’s! We will gather on the lawn between our church building and High St. (Hobson Hall for inclement weather) for a brief liturgy, blessing of the palms, and shared song at 10:15am. Don’t forget to come fifteen minutes early the last Sunday of March to join in and welcome our closest Christian neighbors! It really gets Palm Sunday off to an inspiring start!!! _______________________________________ EASTER FLOWERS This week envelopes are provided in the pews for donations for Easter flowers. Please write “Easter Flowers” on your check and indicate if you would like to have a loved one listed in the Easter bulletin as a memorial. Deadline for names is Wednesday, March 28! After the Easter morning service, flowers will be available to be taken to shut-ins, and when they have lost their blooms the left overs will be planted on the church grounds. ____________________________________________________ Pastoral Care Updates Janet McNaughton has volunteered to be the Sunshine coordinator. Sunshine coordinators are part of the Pastoral Care Committee and send out greeting cards to shut-ins and others with significant life events. Janet will be compiling a list of folks to send cards to on behalf of the church. Please contact Janet if you have names and addresses of people who you think might appreciate a card. |
DSO Big Read – Week 30
There are 3 opportunities to engage with the Exodus journey. Each begins with a very interesting video clip produced here in the diocese by people you may know as they show us what Exodus means to them where they are. Where will the road take you? Read below for dates and times:

BREAD Update
Nehemiah Action May 7th
BREAD… rises!
The St. Stephen’s Justice Ministry Network will be contacting everyone to be sure that you are invited to the Nehemiah Action on Monday May 7. Your attendance is critical, as the city leaders with power to make change look to see how many people are there. Individually we don’t have nearly the impact as we do collectively!
From your B.R.E.A.D. team:
Rae Fellows, Kaethe Sandman, Norm Wernet and Mignonne Whitlow
