NSI Collection for April – Personal Hygiene Products (focus on feminine hygiene)
This month, we are collecting personal hygiene products, with a focus on feminine hygiene products such as sanitary pads and tampons.
Thank you to those who brought in non-food items for NSI, and a big thank you to those who supplied treats both healthy and otherwise during the Trade-in Bake Sale. We collected over 500 personal care and household products for NSI, and over 300 boxes of Mac n’ Cheese for the NSI Easter collection. Thank you all for your generosity this Lenten season.

BREAD Update
Nehemiah Action May 7th
BREAD… rises!
Earlier this week, the BREAD team and several members of our justice ministry network attended the BREAD Rally to prepare for the Nehemiah Action, which is scheduled for Monday, May 7th at 7:00pm. At the rally, we heard personal testimony from individuals who have been positively impacted by the work of BREAD, and from some who struggle with the injustices and inequalities in Columbus. We heard from the research committees about the progress they have made and the approaches they are taking. These last weeks before the Nehemiah Action involve a lot of negotiations, as our city leaders know that there is a deadline, May 7.
The power of BREAD is in the number of people who turn out on May 7. We join with over 40 other congregations to stand for justice and let the local leaders know that we are united in our efforts. YOU need to be there.
St. Stephens will host a potluck dinner on May 7. The BREAD team will supply a main dish and you are asked to bring sides or dessert. A bus will drive us to the state fairgrounds, leaving our parking lot at 6:15. The Action begins at 7:00 and should last about 1.5-2 hours. The bus will return us to the church afterwards.
If you cannot join us for the dinner and bus, you can drive directly to the fairgrounds. Parking will be free for this event.
From your B.R.E.A.D. team:
Rae Fellows, Kaethe Sandman, Norm Wernet and Mignonne Whitlow
