Transition News – The news you have all been waiting for.

The Wardens and Vestry are pleased to announce that on October 1st we will welcome The Reverend Susan “Becky” Michelfelder as our new Rector. Becky is a graduate of Capital University, the Lutheran School of Theology at Chicago, and the Church Divinity School of the Pacific. More information will be forthcoming, but for now Becky’s first Sunday with us will be October 2nd. Special thanks to the Search Committee for their dedication in going through all of the steps in finding and recommending Becky to the Vestry.  We would also like to thank the congregation of St. Stephens for their patience and support during this process.

EASE Gallery Opening: Frankie Westbrook, New & Collected Works

Artist Frankie Westbrook has been working in and around Columbus for decades.  A street artist in the literal sense, Frankie has lived through periods of homelessness and still found ways to make art.  Often explicitly religious in nature, his pieces powerfully evoke spiritual themes and express his own deep theological understanding.  Frankie’s show will open on August 19th at 7:00 PM and run through early October. Please join us for the opening

OSU Football Parking

OH! IO! It’s that time again folks: its Buckeye Football season! St. Stephen’s parish will once again provide parking for the Saturday home games, and in the process raise money for our community. If you would like to help, please volunteer for one or more of the following dates: September 3rd and 10th, October 1st, 8th, and 29th, and November 5th and 26th. We are asking for two volunteers per date. Please contact Matthew Strauss to volunteer; he will let you know the parking details and provide you with the needed materials.

Thank you in advance for your participation and spirit, and may God bless and keep you.

Matthew Strauss

St. Stephen’s Potluck Dinner and after service celebration and remembrance;

Are you willing to help plan a potluck dinner, as well as introducing students to our church? We would like to meet sometime soon, to plan and organize. Let Jeff Watters know.

Tech Guru Needed!

St. Stephen’s is looking for someone with experience in commercial networking and computer tech to assist with occasional issues that arise with our aging infrastructure.  If you have such experience and would be interested in helping out, please contact the Parish Office or the Wardens.

Thanks!

NSI Food Pickup help needed

We are looking for someone to make weekly runs to Aldi (2296 Morse Road, 9 am) starting on Friday August 26th. We are also looking for a weekly pick-up volunteer to go to Happy Chicken (2680 Lewis Centre Way, Urbancrest, OH). It does not have to be the same individual for each job, and the use of a small pick-up truck, large SUV, or empty mini-van is needed. Please let us know if you would be willing to help us out on any or all of these days!
